View: Everton star may have no future under Moyes after transfer news today

Michael Keane could potentially leave Everton as a free agent at the end of the season.

The English defender’s current contract at the Toffees expires at the end of the season and The Friedkin Group seem to have ambitious plans that may not involve the 33-year-old.

It’s been reported in The i Paper on 25 March that the Blues will prioritise signing a right-back, centre-back and a forward in the summer.

Keane’s future at Hill Dickinson Stadium is uncertain and if the Merseyside outfit do end up getting multiple defensive reinforcements, the former Manchester United and Burnley ace may be surplus to requirements for David Moyes.

Who will Everton target for defensive reinforcements in the summer?

It’s been claimed that the Toffees are one of the clubs interested in Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi, who will be a free agent at the end of the season.

The Argentina international has been a key player for Andoni Iraola’s team, especially catching the eye in recent months, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see top teams fighting for his signature.

Ben White is wanted at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the Arsenal right-back mentioned as a target for the Blues ahead of the summer transfer window.

The England international’s situation at the Emirates Stadium doesn’t seem clear, with Mikel Arteta blessed with quality options in defence.

Keane has been impressive alongside James Tarkowski this season, but the addition of a new centre-back will see him drop further down the pecking order.

A new quality right-back will also mean Jake O’Brien will finally be able to regularly play in his natural position, giving Moyes plenty of options at the back.

It would make sense for the Toffees to sell the two right-backs and reinforce the area with someone reliable.
