View: Everton star's snub is warranted but Moyes treatment raises questions
Tyler Dibling has hardly kicked a ball for Everton in 2026.
Less than 12 months ago, Dibling was one of the most talked about youngsters in English football, given the talent he showcased in a dismal Southampton side that suffered relegation.
That earned him plenty of interest in the summer, but it was the Toffees who eventually won the race to sign him, but things havent panned out well since.
The 20-year-old has played just 350 minutes of Premier League football this season, having started just four times for the Toffees in the top flight.
Dibling’s future at Everton has certainly been debated, but his lack of involvement raises questions after what David Moyes has said previously.

David Moyes is hampering Tyler Dibling’s future
Very few will have expected Dibling to have an immediate impact at Everton, but very few would have expected him to have such a lack of it as well.
And Moyes has to take the blame for that, especially after the comments upon his arrival.
Premier League Dibling Games 14 Starts 4 Goals 0 Assists 0 Minutes 350
Moyes said: “I think he’s one who we think we’ve got a really good, talented player on our hands. We need him to develop and get used to us a little bit.”
It’s a valid statement, but the “we need him to develop” loses all validity when you consider how few chances he has had to do that.

The winger has spent the majority of the season as an unused substitute, which is doing that development no good whatsoever.
What’s next for Dibling?
A loan move for Dibling feels almost guaranteed this summer, and it would be the best course of action.
The Toffees will have no place for him in the team, and he needs to be playing regularly if he is to improve enough to force himself into Moyes’ plans.
A Championship move makes the most sense for all parties, and despite his lack of gametime this season, there will certainly be plenty of suitors for him.
However, what is certainly clear is that he can’t be kept on Merseyside to rot on the bench any longer.
