View: Everton struggler has lifeline to finally impress Moyes this int'l break, here's how
Everton‘s Charly Alcaraz simply needs to utilise the international break to his advantage to earn another chance from David Moyes.
The Argentine has been out injured since February, but the Everton boss has confirmed the former is almost back in contention to play.
Alcaraz has had a dismal second spell with the Toffees, to say the least, and is finding it hard to get minutes.
His current injury doesn’t change the situation that he has at Hill Dickinson, which is that Moyes doesn’t seem to be in favour of the attacking midfielder, even if he raves about him in interviews.
Moyes has only started Alcaraz six times in the league this season, but the break gives the latter to lay down a market at Finch Farm with others away.

Charly Alcaraz could be into his final seven games as an Everton player
Everton are close to achieving their ultimate goal of bringing European football to Hill Dickinson next season, with the Blues now joint on points with Brentford, who are in seventh place.
People could argue that the break has come at the wrong time for Moyes’ side, but every cloud has a silver lining, and that could be Alcaraz.
Area of play Stats Games (starts) 16 (6) Minutes played 673 Cross success 40% Pass success 81% Duels won per 90 5.62
The 23-year-old may be given a more important role in some training sessions at Finch Farm over the break, especially with Iliman Ndiaye away for duty with Senegal.
Alcaraz earns around £20,000 per week, which may actually enhance his chances of remaining at Everton for another season, especially if they do qualify for a European competition.
However, as highlighted by Sofascore in the graphic below, the average 47 minutes per game that Alcaraz has played across his entire Toffees career is alarming.

Less than 50 per cent of his appearances are actually starts, and despite this, he has a seven-goal contribution in return, which shows that he is effective.
But, there’s obviously still something missing that is holding the Argentine back from earning the faith of Moyes.
Who could be more effective: Dwight McNeil or Alcaraz?
Dwight McNeil is another player whose future has been up in the air at times. After having a £20million move to Crystal Palace collapse on deadline day, the winger has made a dramatic turnaround under Moyes.
Despite being a natural left-winger, McNeil has featured on the right, somewhere Alcaraz has experience of playing.

According to Sofascore, Alcaraz has created more big chances than McNeil this season, despite playing 264 minutes less than the latter.
However, McNeil does have a 7.6 per cent increased dribble success rate compared to Alcaraz.
Regardless, both offer different qualities, but Alcaraz is the one whose future looks more in doubt right now.
