View: Everton surely leading race to sign player Patrick Vieira has worked closely with
Everton could take a leaf out of Patrick Vieira’s book this winter.
The Toffees are yet to complete a January deal, but that hasn’t stopped regular Everton links for Youssef En-Nesyri, among others.
Romelu Lukaku has also been linked with an Everton return, with striker reinforcements seemingly on the shopping list at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
David Moyes also wants new defensive options, especially with Nathan Patterson potentially on his way out of Everton before the end of the window.
That could see the Blues turn their attention to Europe and a player who has previously spoken out about his close relationship with Vieira.

Everton in race to sign new right-back in January
Patterson started in the 1-0 win away to Aston Villa last time out, and he performed at a good level against Unai Emery’s side.
That may not be enough to halt his departure from Merseyside, with new options seemingly in the pipeline for the L4 outfit.
That has seen Brooke Norton-Cuffy linked with a move to Everton, as a move away from Serie A could be on the cards this winter.

The i Paper reported on Wednesday that the Blues have been made aware of his availability, with a permanent transfer more likely than a loan.
Everton may be delighted to learn that they face Premier League competition from West Ham for his signature over a deal in the region of £17million.
If it were a straight shootout between Moyes and his former side, the Toffees would surely be in pole position to sign the 22-year-old this winter.
Brooke Norton-Cuffy benefited from working under Patrick Vieira
The England under-21 international has played for various sides in England, having come through the academy at Arsenal.
Norton-Cuffy spent loan spells at Lincoln City, Rotherham United, Coventry City and Millwall before making a surprise move abroad.
He now finds himself at Genoa, where he has made 35 appearances since his move in August 2024, where he linked up with Vieira.
The Frenchman was in charge of the Serie A side between November 2024 and November 2025 and clearly made an impression on the full-back.
Speaking about his head coach in October 2025, Norton-Cuffy said: “He was a great player, he’s a great manager now, and he’s helped me a lot since he’s come in.“
It is clear that he will have learned from the Arsenal legend and could be set to use those lessons to benefit Everton if he completes a Merseyside switch.
