Moise Kean could be set to return to the Premier League and the striker’s exploits away from Everton make you wonder whether the Toffees gave up too soon.

The Italian arrived on Merseyside in the summer of 2019 as a 19-year-old with plenty of potential in the world of football.

However, at Goodison Park back then, he was not exactly afforded too many opportunities after his £27.5million move.

In the end, the Toffees did receive most of their money back and, with amortisation, made a decent bit of book profit due to his £25m sale.

However, since his Everton exit, Kean has repeatedly showcased his qualities, and the Blues’ loss may now be another’s gain.

According to Calciomercato, Kean could be on his way back to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur and Roberto De Zerbi interested in signing him.

The outlet states that his current club, Fiorentina, holds a £43.6m valuation, with a release clause of £54m.

If an Everton fan heard those figures back throughout his spell at the Toffees, they would simply not believe you.

In L4, Kean managed to score four goals in 39 appearances across all competitions. However, he was barely given a chance.

In his first season for the Toffees, Kean was only handed six starts, but in three of them, he registered a goal involvement.

Kean was bemused at the fact he was not playing, but it showcases that during his time, with a little more trust, he could have become an influential player.

Despite limited involvement, the Blues had seen enough, and Kean spent the next two seasons out on loan at PSG and Juventus before the Old Lady bought him back.

However, with Kean scoring 27 league goals over the course of the last two seasons, Everton might have been too quick to judge the striker.

With Everton looking to become a team competing in Europe, the same will be said for Tottenham next season if they can stay up.

This campaign has been poor from the Lilywhites, but the appointment of De Zerbi is an attempt to rectify their mistakes.

With Kean potentially moving to London, Everton could witness their errors up close and personal. The Italian could help Spurs become the side they once were and add another rival for the European spots.

Kean could ultimately come back to haunt the Blues, and he will want to prove his doubters in Merseyside wrong.
