Napoli are now ready to sell Romelu Lukaku this summer due to off-field tensions, with Everton in a great position to bring him home after they attempted to do so in the January transfer window.

At the end of March, Napoli released a statement regarding the striker’s absence from training, confirming they will take the necessary action to punish his behaviour.

It came after the number nine allegedly failed to pick up calls from his employers, despite not being with the Belgian national team over the break.

David Moyes was keen on signing the former Everton striker in the January window, but an exit from Italy was only ever going to potentially happen in the summer.

Everton reached out to Lukaku, and the Toffees now look in better shape than ever to bring their beloved forward home.

The Friedkin Group have to grant David Moyes’ Romelu Lukaku wish

Everton were in touch with Lukaku’s agent over the winter window, but got the response that he wasn’t willing to make a move halfway through the season.

But in turn, this could actually be the biggest blessing for the Friedkin Group, who may not have to spend too much to sign the 32-year-old.

Lukaku in the Serie A this season

Lukaku is currently injured and has struggled with fitness issues all season. However, Moyes would be the perfect head coach to get the bagsman back firing again for the Toffees, who could be fighting in Europe next season.

The Everton boss will most likely want a reunion, and as relayed by EuroFoot on X this Tuesday, Napoli are now going to go to the lengths of excluding the forward for the rest of the campaign.

Though reports from Italy around Lukaku’s attitude seem alarming, it would be hard to turn him down for what should be a cut-price deal this summer.

The Friedkin Group have to give Moyes what he wants.

The one stumbling block with a move for Lukaku

Everyone knows the ability that Lukaku has, as a Hill Dickinson debut awaits him.

He would have to compete with Beto and Thierno Barry for a starting spot, but given the chances both of them forwards have had and failed to score this season, you would put your money on Lukaku burying most of them.

Though the Blues should have the finances to pull off a sensational return for the Belgian, his wages could be a problem.

In a modern age where many big-name stars head to Saudi Arabia and the MLS toward the back end of their careers, Everton could face competition to give the striker what he truly wants.

If Lukaku’s priority is to test himself at the highest level once again, then Everton is the place for him to go.
