View: Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium may have run world record close after Chelsea celebrations

Everton have waited for another taste of Hill Dickinson magic, and that’s what they got in the 3-0 win over Chelsea this Saturday.

The Toffees were rampant in their victory over Liam Rosenior’s side as Blue fans raised the noise levels to create what was arguably the best atmosphere Hill Dickinson has witnessed so far.

It was never going to be an easy transition moving from a place like Goodison Park, but it’s moments like the win this weekend that will make the new ground feel like home.

David Moyes’ side went through a rough patch on their own soil, with some Blues fans questioning whether the atmosphere at Hill Dickinson was failing them in a push for European football.

But as seen in Everton’s 3-0 thumping of Chelsea, the Toffees could have a long future of success in their new L5 home.

Everton may be pushing this world record close

The narrative that Goodison Park provided more results than Hill Dickinson Stadium wasn’t exactly true, even if the atmosphere was better.

When broken down with statistics, the readings show that Goodison Park did have it’s years of misery in the Premier League

Vincenzo Grappa previously reported that the Hill Dickinson Stadium recorded a 131 decibel sound in the 92nd minute after Jack Grealish netted a late winner in the 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace last October.

The current world record for the highest decibel sound during a football match is reportedly held by Galatasaray for a 131.76 reading in 2011, as highlighted by digitalstudiome.

Now, if Everton’s previous 131 sound is true, then they may have run the world record close after the win over Chelsea, because the place was bouncing.

James Garner even admitted after the match that it was the best he’d seen the ground since making the switch this summer.

While no readings from the game are yet to be published, it would be no surprise to see the Toffees topping these charts.

What is Everton’s home record looking like now?

The Toffees are now sitting joint on 46 points with their European pushing rivals, Brentford, as an all-important clash against the Bees awaits after the international break.

Moyes has got his side as one of the best teams on the road, fourth in the away form standings to be specific, before Sunday’s Premier League matches kick off.

As seen in the graphic above, the Blues have only lost one more game at Hill Dickinson Stadium than they did at Goodison Park last campaign, which was the best return in the last five seasons.

If Everton manages to keep their form steady at home and on the road, the records won’t matter, because they’ll find themselves where they want to be, in Europe.
