View: Gelhardt's Hull stats vs Mikey Moore's show why Rangers must sign him
Joe Gelhardt has put up largely better underlying league numbers than Mikey Moore has this season, showing why Rangers must firm up their reported transfer interest this summer.
Rangers are understood to be monitoring Gelhardt’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window, with him only being contracted to parent club Leeds United until the summer of 2027.
The 23-year-old has had a career campaign on loan in the Championship with Hull City, scoring 13 times and providing five assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.
He’s played 35 times for Leeds in the Premier League during his time at Elland Road too, which is proof of just how highly he’s been thought of in West Yorkshire.
But, with Leeds looking set to stay in the Premier League this season, the Whites may be looking to bank a big payday on him this summer, with Rangers eyeing up a transfer swoop.

Mikey Moore and Joe Gelhardt’s league stats compared
Rangers could use their 49ers link to sign Gelhardt, with the group also holding ownership of the Premier League outfit.
We’ve seen the rise of multi-club ownership and transfers in recent years, and so Gers will hold an obvious advantage over potential transfer rivals this summer.
Gelhardt’s profile Result Date of birth 4 May, 2002 (23) Place of birth Liverpool Height 1.75m/5’9″ Position(s) AM/RW/ST Began career with Wigan Athletic
Gelhardt has always been tipped for great things during his time with Leeds, but prior to first joining Hull on loan for the duration of last season, he’d spent the previous few campaigns getting precious little opportunities.
However, he’s absolutely burst into life in the Championship this year, and has undoubtedly been one of the best players in English football’s second tier.
Similarly to Moore, Gelhardt can play anywhere across the forward line, and could be a direct rival to him if both end up at Ibrox next season.
So, how do their respective Scottish Premiership and EFL Championship stats compare with one another? Well, Gelhardt’s numbers certainly make for very impressive reading next to Moore’s.

As per Sofascore, Gelhardt has averaged more goals (0.4 to 0.2) and shots on target (1.0 to 0.8) per game, whilst also posting a better crossing accuracy of 25 per cent to Moore’s 17.8 per cent.
The Hull loanee has also averaged more interceptions (0.5 to 0.2), won more tackles (1.3 to 0.7), made more clearances (0.6 to 0.3) and posted a better dribble success rate (45.9 per cent to 43.3 per cent) per game this season.
Meanwhile, Moore has created more big chances (seven to four) and has lost possession less times per game (11.7 to 12.1), but overall, Gelhardt’s numbers are largely better in most categories.
Gelhardt and Moore could co-exist in Rangers team
Naturally then, given they are of a similar profile, questions will be asked over whether Moore and Gelhardt could fit together in the same Rangers team.
The answer to that is yes. Moore tends to operate from the left for Gers, whereas Gelhardt has pretty much split his time playing central and on the right for Hull this season.
As such, Danny Rohl could quite easily get them both in his starting XI, and if so, that would be some forward line to fear.
Moore on the left, Gelhardt on the right, with either Thelo Aasgaard or Ryan Naderi in the 10 and Youssef Chermiti leading the line: that’s a recipe for success.
