View: Halliday hails 'dangerous' Rangers man vs Celtic, but it perfectly sums up Ibrox woes
Rangers were far from their best in the penalty shootout loss to Celtic on Sunday.
Danny Rohl’s side were sent crashing out of the Scottish Cup by the Hoops, as the travelling supporters invaded Ibrox at full-time.
The Bears had nothing going forward, as Celtic’s defence stifled any real opportunity that was created by the home side.
Rangers’ loss to Celtic was damaging in more ways than one, but the fact that Dujon Sterling gained some of the highest praise from the match is quite frankly concerning.

Andy Halliday has Dujon Sterling as Rangers’ best player vs Celtic
Sterling could leave Rangers at the end of the season, and has shown signs of long-term damage from his multiple injury issues.
He has been used as both a centre-back and right-back by Rohl, but featured on the right side against Celtic this time.
- Sterling has two goal contributions in the last two seasons for Rangers
- He has only started seven league games this term
While commenting on BBC Sportsound, Andy Halliday gave his verdict on what he’d seen after the 45 minutes at Ibrox.
Halliday said: “The two right-backs have been the best players on the pitch. Sterling loops in a dangerous ball, finds Youssef Chermiti, it’s a difficult one on this left foot, he tries to guide it towards goal, and it just goes over the bar.”
The fact that Sterling was one of Rangers’ most dangerous players going forward truly shows the lack of success they had in the final third.

What makes it even more worrying is the fact that they had their in-form Mikey Moore on the pitch, as well as supposed game-changing winter signings, Ryan Naderi and Andreas Skov Olsen.
Has Danny Rohl ran out of ways to grind out results?
In Rangers’ best form under Rohl, they were winning games, but not necessarily by overwhelmingly good performances.
More often than not, the Gers would find ways to go ahead and grind out results with solid defensive displays.

Now it seems like sides have begun to pick up on Rohl’s ways, and it’s never been clearer in how Martin O’Neill’s side came out the victor in the repeat fixture from last weekend.
Ibrox chatter now suggests that some are losing faith in the German head coach, and he needs to turn doubters into believers, fast.
