View: Moyes dilemma takes another twist at Everton after Brentford draw
Jake O’Brien’s best games for Everton have often been at centre-back, but he showed some worth again at right-back against Brentford.
The Toffees were far from their best against the Bees on Saturday, though a point away from home is certainly enough to keep them in the hunt for European football ahead of the final six games.
Beto continued his fine run of goals in the 26th minute, and certainly more than earned his plaudits for his all-round display.
As did O’Brien, who did well to keep Kevin Schade at bay for the most part.
However, O’Brien’s performances have often sparked debate at Everton, and David Moyes‘ biggest dilemma still lives on after the latest encounter.

Where is Jake O’Brien’s best position?
The Irish international has been a regular for the Toffees this season, and mainly due to injuries, most of his appearances have been at right-back.
He’s played 25 times there this season, which is more than any of Everton’s so-called natural options for that area of the pitch.

Quite often, his limitations on the ball have been exposed, as has his lack of pace.
In terms of his performance on the ball against Brentford, it was largely the same, but defensively, he barely put a foot wrong, and that has now been the case for a few weeks in the Premier League.

O’Brien is undoubtedly Everton’s best option at right-back as of right now, but whether Moyes sees that as his position long-term remains to be seen.
Everton transfer plans will not have changed
The Toffees were clear in their attempts to sign a right-back in the winter, and they will still look to do so in the summer.
However, that doesn’t necessarily mean good or bad for O’Brien, with Everton needing depth in that area more than anything.
Nathan Patterson has been linked with an exit, and if that were to occur, then the Merseysiders will almost certainly continue their pursuit of one of those who were linked.
