View: Moyes has worrying trend to overcome at Everton post-international break
Everton‘s quest for European qualification could hit a stumbling block, with the Toffees’ record post-international breaks a worry.
The Blues made huge steps towards getting into Europe with a 3-0 win against Chelsea on Saturday.
David Moyes’ side are now just three points off rivals Liverpool, who currently sit in fifth place, which is projected to be a Champions League spot.
However, the Scotsman may not like the timing of the break in Premier League action ahead of their upcoming games.
While Everton’s win over Chelsea has put them firmly in the conversation for the top seven, they will need to overcome a disappointing trend on their return to action.

What is Everton’s record after international breaks?
Out of the last 15 points available following an international break, Everton have only picked up five in that period.
Additionally, when it comes to getting back at the races, the Blues are often far off it. They have only scored one goal in those five games.
Everton post-international break (Last five games) Total Wins 1 Draws 2 Losses 2 Goals scored 1 Goals conceded 3
With the L3 outfit in good form, picking up three wins in their last four Premier League games, the break in domestic football has come at a terrible time.
Momentum at Hill Dickinson Stadium is now in danger of being halted at a crucial period of the season.
The Blues have just seven games left to play, and the supercomputer has Everton in with a good shot of Europe.

However, as the record above shows, that could all change with the Blues’ next match not being until 11 April versus Brentford.
What are the positives from the international break arriving?
There is one big benefit to the arrival of the international break, and that is for players like Jarrad Branthwaite and Charly Alcaraz to return to full fitness.
The former has recently had injury struggles, with his selection on the Everton bench against Chelsea a late decision by Moyes.
A break for the defender will allow him to get back up to speed, seeing as he has not been called up for England.
Additionally, Alcaraz’ return is expected to be soon. At the end of February, Moyes said he would be out for “three or four weeks”.
So, if everything goes smoothly, other than Jack Grealish, the Toffees manager could have a fully fit squad available for the run-in.
