View: Rangers have positive omen as Spain warm weather training camp on the cards
Rangers are set to go on a warm-weather training camp in April as Danny Rohl seeks every advantage in the final few weeks of the campaign.
The Gers are three points behind Hearts in the Scottish Premiership title race, with seven matches to play, and the trip will commence the week starting 13 April, which would leave five games remaining.
The hope will be that the camaraderie and chance for Rohl to refine his tactical approach, something he missed out on with no pre-season, will give the Light Blues the edge.
Rangers fans will look back to what former manager Philippe Clement did the last time that the Govan outfit took a trip to Spain as a positive omen.

Why Philippe Clement is the example to follow for Rangers
Rangers’ last trip to La Manga under Clement in January 2024, had brilliant results on the pitch, with the Bears winning their next 10 matches after they returned.
The Belgian saw his side score 28 goals, while only conceding four after the visit to Murcia, where they played a friendly against Hertha Berlin.

The Gers ultimately lost out on the Scottish Premiership to Celtic by eight points and finished as runners-up in the Scottish Cup.
However, if they were to go on a similar winning run once they come back, providing that they win the two before that, it would put them in a great position.
Why Clement example will be a surprise for Rangers fans
Clement is not typically held up as an example at Rangers, as his reign ended in utterly miserable circumstances.
He was sacked after 16 months in charge, with the Auchenhowie club sitting 13 points behind Celtic in the league, after a dismal Ibrox loss to St Mirren.

However, in this case, Rohl and his players need to look to the former manager and how his side came back in such brilliant form if they are to overhaul Derek McInnes’ side.
If they can manage to manifest a similar level of results, then surely they will come out on top over the Tynecastle outfit at the end of the season.
Surely, given that Rohl has the chance to have a mini pre-season with his squad, after not getting a proper one, is an encouraging proposition.
