View: Rohl will feel relieved as brilliant stats emerge ahead of Rangers vs Aberdeen
Danny Rohl should feel confident that his Rangers side can overcome Aberdeen when the two sides meet at Ibrox on Saturday.
Consecutive 2-2 draws with Livingston and Celtic left Rangers six points off the top of the Scottish Premiership table, but the 1-0 win over St Mirren cut that in half immediately.
The Bears have done a brilliant job to get back into the mix for the title, and they need to finish the regular season impeccably before the split.
Rohl’s men now face an Aberdeen side that is ninth in the Scottish Premiership and has just appointed Stephen Robinson, who drew his first game 1-1 against Falkirk.
Rangers should beat Aberdeen comfortably, and they need to apply even more pressure on Hearts by taking advantage of the away side’s poor record in Govan.

Rangers look set to continue phenomenal record vs Aberdeen
Rohl has come under fire for some of his tactical decisions in recent weeks, but the German head coach knows that his players should have enough to see off the Dons.
Rangers have won each of their last three league games against Aberdeen by an aggregate score of 8-0.
Only from January 2001 to August 2002 have they ever won more in a row against the Dons without conceding (six).
Result Rangers Wins 101 Draws 49 Losses 58
Aberdeen have lost each of their last four league visits to Rangers, the last three of which have been without scoring. Only in August 2002 did they lose four in a row away to the Gers without reply.
When you take into account the fact that the Bears are unbeaten in all 13 of their league matches played since Christmas Day, picking up 31 points in this time, they are nailed-on favourites to secure all three points.
With Hearts playing earlier on Saturday, but Celtic playing on Sunday, there is a chance that Rohl’s side could end the day top of the league.

That would only happen if the Light Blues win and the Jambos lose at home to Dundee, but Rohl knows that if his players can take care of business against Aberdeen, Rangers’ momentum will only increase as the season approaches its climax.
How has new Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson fared vs Rangers in recent years?
Despite winning the Scottish League Cup as St Mirren boss in December, the 51-year-old decided to make the move to Aberdeen at the start of March.
However, he joins a side that is in terrible form, as they sit ninth in the table with 30 points from 30 games.
The Dons have only won one of their last 14 league games, a 6-2 victory over bottom side Livingston in January. They have only scored six goals combined in the 13 matches they failed to win in this period.

Robinson has also lost nine of his last 10 league visits to Rangers, with the exception of a 2-0 win with St Mirren in February 2025.
The signs certainly aren’t promising for the new manager, and if Aberdeen were to prevail at Ibrox, it would be one of the biggest shocks of the season.
