Rangers now seem to be working on outgoings as Kieran Dowell gets ready to join Hull City in the winter transfer window.

Dowell will initially leave Ibrox on loan before signing for the EFL Championship outfit permanently as a free agent in the summer.

Findlay Curtis is also on the verge of joining Kilmarnock until the end of the season, with Lyall Cameron already switching the Gers for Aberdeen.

Danny Rohl will surely be looking to trim the squad in the coming days, and Ibrox News takes a look at three players who may be on their way out.

Rabbi Matondo to follow Kieran Dowell out of Rangers

Rabbi Matondo has surprisingly featured for the Gers in their last two matches, putting in a decent performance in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup.

Annan Athletic were beaten convincingly at Ibrox, with the Wales international winning a penalty after coming off the bench for the final 35 minutes of the 5-0 victory.

It looks like Rohl is trying to put the 25-year-old in the shop window by showing potentially interested parties that he’s fit enough to play after being on the sidelines for several months.

Matondo’s contract at the Glaswegian outfit expires at the end of the season, just like Dowell’s, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him join a team on loan before the 2 February deadline and subsequently sign for them as a free agent.

Joe Rothwell exit still on despite Connor Barron injury

Joe Rothwell has been heavily linked with a return to the EFL Championship, with Sheffield United one of the teams interested.

The 31-year-old’s move to Ibrox hasn’t worked out after a stellar season to help Leeds United in their push for Premier League promotion.

Rohl is expected to be without Connor Barron in the coming months, but Tochi Chukwuani will surely be able to fill that void after signing from Sturm Graz.

Rothwell may be on his way out of the Light Blues just months after signing for them, but it will arguably be best for both parties to part ways at this stage.

Nicolas Raskin has big ambition as Danny Rohl expects marquee January signing

Nicolas Raskin wants to join a team in Europe’s top five leagues, having recently rejected an offer from Besiktas.

The Belgium international has been one of the best players in Scotland in recent months, and Rangers will have to cash in on him sooner rather than later.

Rohl hinted at the possibility of a “wow signing” at the Gers, and speaking in his pre-match press conference on 21 January, he said, “Maybe there’s someone who can bring an exciting signing in, but it’s a lot of if and maybe, and let’s wait.”

It may suggest that the Glaswegian outfit could potentially have plans in place to replace Raskin if he does leave, but only time will tell how the situation in Govan unfolds.
