View: Tottenham player embarrasses himself with reaction in loss v Palace, not good enough
Pedro Porro was taken off the pitch in the 74th minute as Tottenham lost 3-1 to Crystal Palace, with the Spaniard’s reaction an embarrassment.
Tottenham’s relegation chances continue to grow closer, and after yet another defeat on Thursday, they are just one point off the drop zone, and are yet to win a match in 2026.
Performances on the pitch were simply not good enough, and Porro was one of those players who left a lot to be desired at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
As he was subbed off for Xavi Simons, he was visibly frustrated that his night had ended, but truthfully, Porro did not have much room to complain.

Why Pedro Porro’s reaction was embarrasing after his performance
Porro’s display against Crystal Palace was mediocre, and the same could be said for many of the Tottenham players.
The 26-year-old ended the evening with just a 71 per cent passing accuracy as per Sofascore, showcasing how sloppy he was on the ball throughout the game.
Additionally, he was not strong enough in his duels, winning just 50 per cent of them against Crystal Palace.
He also committed three fouls and lost possession on 17 different occasions. Overall, it was a night to forget for the Tottenham defender.

Porro may feel he was harshly taken off, but Igor Tudor was completely within his rights to make that change, with little working for the Croatian again.
His reaction to being taken off was not one of a professional, but one of a player who knew they were simply not good enough on the night.
Porro will feel lucky to start next game, here’s why
After a showing like that from Porro against Crystal Palace, the Spurs defender should feel lucky to start Spurs’ next game; however, he likely will.
Micky van de Ven’s red card means he will be suspended to face Liverpool, and that will likely see Porro return as part of the back three Tudor deployed.
A centre-back trio of Kevin Danso, the returning Cristian Romero and Porro is the possible set-up for Spurs’ trip to Anfield.
Typically, Porro should be dropped, but as things stand, Tottenham simply do not have the options at their disposal to make such changes.
The Spaniard must increase his levels, as both his reaction and performance against Palace were embarrassing.
