View: Tottenham relegation chances share dull story as 17-year low already suffered
Tottenham Hotspur remain at serious risk of relegation ahead of their clash with Sunderland.
Roberto De Zerbi will have to work miracles if he is to keep Spurs in the Premier League, given the recent form they have endured domestically.
The Lilywhites are winless in their last 13 league matches, while having already dropped into the relegation zone for the first time in 17 years.
More misery was piled on Spurs as West Ham secured what was a huge victory at home to Wolves on Saturday, piling more pressure on this weekend’s clash.
Tottenham need to win away to Sunderland, with the likelihood of relegation already looking strong.

How likely are Tottenham to be relegated?
While the league table suggested it, Spurs were never really at risk of relegation last season, but the current campaign is a different story.
This side looks devoid of quality and confidence, and the longer that continues, the more likely they are to be in the Championship next season.
Premier League Points Nottingham Forest 32 West Ham 32 Tottenham 30 Burnley 20
Ahead of their trip to the Stadium of Light, Spurs have a 34.23 per cent chance of relegation, with Opta having predicted them to finish 17th.
West Ham are still forecasted to finish in the bottom three, despite their recent run of form, though that could change this Sunday.

Sunderland haven’t lost four league games in a row since 2017, while having last done so in the top flight 13 years ago.
That is the magnitude of the task that lies ahead for Spurs.
Tottenham are edging closer to breaking unwanted 91-year record
This current run of form is not one that Tottenham have been accustomed to over the years.
In fact, the last time they were on a similar run was back in 1935, when they failed to secure victory in 16 matches in a row.
To this day, that is the longest winless run in their history, and anything less than a victory against Sunderland this weekend would see them move within two games of matching that record.
They may take heart from the fact that they are unbeaten in their last 15 Premier League games against Sunderland, but this season has demonstrated just how little previous meetings truly mean.
