Reiss Elliott-Parris found the back of the net on his debut for the Guyana Under-20 side on Tuesday evening.

Guyana were beaten 3-2 by Curaçao in the first game of their CONCACAF Under-20 Championship qualifying campaign, but the Tottenham forward got himself on the scoresheet.

Elliott-Parris played the full 90 minutes, scoring a consolation goal in the closing stages.

Guyana will face Anguilla on Saturday evening as they continue their quest to reach the CONCACAF Under-20 Championships, before games against Haiti, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Why did Reiss Elliott-Parris receive international call-up?

Elliott-Parris signed his first professional contract with Tottenham last summer, as a reward for some good performances in the 2024-25 campaign.

He has continued his fine form so far this season, earning himself a maiden international call-up as a result.

The teenage forward has scored 10 goals in 15 games at Under-18 level, and has also found the back of the net twice for Spurs in the Under-19 UEFA Youth League.

He has also been given sporadic run-outs in Premier League 2 for the Under-21 side, grabbing one assist from five appearances.

The 18-year-old will hope to get more chances at international level as Guyana continue their qualifying campaign over the next week.

Tottenham academy full of exciting talent

Elliott-Parris scored the opener for Spurs Under-18s last week as they secured an impressive 4-1 win over Arsenal.

George Feeney and Miracle Adewole also got on the scoresheet for the Lilywhites in what was a dominant display over their North London rivals at London Colney.

Of course, the senior side were unable to replicate this on Sunday, beaten 4-1 themselves by the Gunners, but Spurs fans can at least be assured that their next generation is developing well.

Under Thomas Frank, there were very few opportunities for youth players to break through into the first team, despite a huge injury crisis under the Dane.

In an ideal world, new manager Igor Tudor will guide Tottenham to Premier League safety well before the end of the season, which would enable him to blood some rising talent into the senior side.
