View: Tottenham youngster dazzles out on loan, he may be due first-team chance next season
Tottenham Hotspur are set to be handed a transfer dilemma in the form of Will Lankshear.
The young striker has impressed on loan at Oxford United in the Championship this season, showing his quality despite the club’s struggles in their bid to beat the drop.
While Lankshear was not able to add to his goal tally in the 2-0 defeat by Southampton on Saturday, he again worked relentlessly, showing the type of spirit warmly welcomed in N17.
As the summer window approaches, Spurs will have a big decision to make on his future.
Lankshear could leave on loan again or look to stay and fight for his first-team spot, but either way, Tottenham will have to convince him he has a long-term future at the club.

How is Will Lankshear doing at Oxford United?
Lankshear completed his move to the Kassam Stadium in August, having been sent out for regular first-team minutes after a poor spell with West Bromwich Albion last summer.
The 20-year-old had not been able to provide a single goal contribution in his 11 matches with the Baggies, but despite this, he has gone on to catch the eye at Oxford.

Indeed, he has netted nine times and registered two assists so far this campaign – an impressive return for a club fighting for their lives near the foot of the Championship.
Eight of those goals have come in league action, proving that Oxford would be in a much worse position without him. From a distance, Tottenham will certainly have taken notice.
Lankshear has bagged two goals and an assist in his last five appearances, with Matt Bloomfield’s side tasting defeat just once across that resurgent run of form.
While they were brought back down to earth with a bump after losing to Southampton, the on-loan ace was tirelessly involved throughout before being taken off after 77 minutes.
Tottenham must give Lankshear first-team chance
However, Lankshear could leave Tottenham in the summer. That is because both Middlesbrough and Wrexham are keeping tabs on him, according to Football League World.
The young frontman remains highly rated at his parent club, who he joined from Sheffield United in 2022, and he is tied down to a long-term contract set to run until 2029.
That means that Spurs are in control over his future, but they run the risk of him pushing for a permanent move if they cannot make assurances over regular first-team minutes.
He will return to North London an improved, deadlier forward, itching for his big chance. But at present, they are unlikely to provide him with the regular senior football he so craves.
Of course, that could lead to an awkward transfer summit in which a mutually beneficial parting of ways could be agreed upon, and there will be no shortage of interest.
Summer Focus: Survival contingent
Risk: £250m hit if relegated
Long-term: Maddison, Kulusevski
Date: Tuesday, March 10
Candidates: De Zerbi, Keane, Redknapp, Dyche
