Wenham names one sticking point to Tottenham hiring 'Outstanding Candidate' Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino is the man that most Tottenham fans want to become their next permanent manager.
Pochettino enjoyed five years with Tottenham, guiding them to the Champions League final with the likes of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min in the side.
However, the club have since fallen into a relegation battle, and currently have Igor Tudor in charge to try and keep them in the Premier League.
However, that is not expected to be a permanent solution, leaving the door open for the Argentine’s return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It may not be that straightforward, though.

Why is not that straightforward for Tottenham and Pochettino?
John Wenham believes that there is a potential sticking point that could hamper Spurs’ attempts to appoint their former boss.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, he said: “I’m obviously a little bit cautious of the fact that the US’s World Cup games could go on for quite a bit of time, eating into the pre-season where we need such a massive rebuild.
“We really do need Pochettino there for that, but I still think Pochettino is an absolutely outstanding candidate and the man that should get the job.”
Why Pochettino and Tottenham reunion is perfect for both despite concerns
They say you should never go back, but the timing seems to be perfect for Pochettino to do so.
He is still beloved by Lilywhites supporters, the N17 club needs something to boost fan morale, and he did not get the backing that he needed from the owners when he was in charge.
Now, Spurs are happy to spend money in the market, as they backed Thomas Frank with approximately £230million this season, before he was dismissed from his post.

With that kind of money, the 54-year-old could probably build another super team, and perhaps go one further than he did in his first stint.
Wenham’s concerns are valid, it would be a struggle if he cannot take charge for the start of pre-season for the players not selected for the World Cup, but he should be the man that the North Londoners put all their attention towards.
He is the only one who could bring positivity back to the fanbase without a ball being kicked.
