Wolves fans say the same thing about Rob Edwards getting sacked tonight

Rob Edwards has continued to oversee a disastrous start at Wolves after a 2-0 defeat to Brentford on Saturday.

It was a sixth straight defeat for the former Middlesbrough boss, who has been unable to turn the tide of results since his appointment in November.

As a result, Wolves will be winless on Christmas Day, as they remain on just two points as the halfway point of the campaign approaches.

Wolves have been tipped to even break Derby’s lowest points record in a Premier League season, and Saturday’s performance did little to silence these critics.

As a result, many of the Molineux faithful are calling for Edwards to be sacked as the defeats continue at the Black Country club.

Wolves fans insist Rob Edwards is out of his depth

Wolves fans rejoiced on Friday when it was announced that Jeff Shi was removed as chairman at Molineux.

However, while the club undergoes changes, results have not improved on the pitch as they gave Brentford their second away win of the campaign.

All of Wolves’ good work from their narrow 2-1 defeat to Arsenal disappeared, and Jorgen Strand Larsen’s late penalty miss summed up the performance.

Now, fans have taken to X to call for Edwards to be sacked, with results not improving.

Many fans believe that Wolves are actually worse now than they were under Vitor Pereira, who oversaw the opening matches of the 2025-26 campaign.

What did Edwards say after the Brentford defeat?

Edwards once again faced the media on Saturday after another defeat at Wolves manager, something that has become a common trend.

Once again, it was a familiar story for the manager, with Wolves being level at half-time, before comfortably losing the match.

On top of this, the Old Gold side failed to find the net yet again at Molineux, with only one goal being scored at home under Edwards’ reign to date.

Speaking to BBC Sport on 20 December, the manager believes that the current pressure at Wolves is affecting the players.

He said: “It’s a similar story to our recent games. We have been drawing at half-time in all six games since I arrived.

“The first goal is so important in games. After that we tried to open up more, made some changes, and after the second goal it’s really difficult from there.

“At the moment, we’re probably getting different performances in training than out there. It does inhibit one or two a little bit more. There are a few who are feeling the heat and the pressure and it is affecting performance.”
