Jordan Pickford believes that if Everton were to qualify for Europe this season, he could silence questions over why he isn’t playing for a “bigger club”.

While speaking after the Brentford draw, Pickford shared his thoughts on the previous questions asked about why he doesn’t seek a move away from the Blues.

Pickford said: “For me, the Premier League is always tough; it doesn’t matter whether you’re playing the champions or bottom of the table, every game is a battle, and if you’re not on point, you’ll get turned over. That’s what we’ve got to be ready for in these last six games.

“I’m at a great club. If we get Europe this year, those questions will be squashed.”

Evertonians don’t have much to worry about, as they should be set to keep the shot-stopper for a few more years to come.

Who will take over from Pickford?

Everton have two other goalkeepers in the form of Mark Travers and Tom King who have barely been seen this season.

European qualification could see either feature more; however, neither of them will be Pickford’s successor.

Everton could look in the transfer market to replace Pickford at some point, but if they want a cheaper option and someone who has high potential, then George Pickford may be the young man to trust.

There’s a good chance that the Toffees could see the name Pickford as their starting keeper for another decade yet.
