'Active' - Chris Jack shares possible Rangers transfer certainty, answers Naderi question

Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi may not be the number nine Rangers get in the winter transfer window.

The Ibrox hierarchy have upped their bid for Naderi, but the 3. Liga outfit are adamant about not losing the centre-forward before the 2 February deadline.

Danny Rohl has his eyes on Leeds United attacker Joel Piroe as an alternative, but it doesn’t seem like the Suriname international fancies a move to Scotland.

The Glaswegian outfit are currently active in the market in search of a number nine, and fans in G51 can expect something to go through sooner rather than later.

Rangers will sign new striker by Deadline Day

Chris Jack believes a new striker is guaranteed at the Gers in the coming days.

The journalist is uncertain about the prospect of Naderi moving to the Light Blues, but they are expected to reinforce their front line.

With the Glaswegian outfit pursuing alternative targets to bolster their attacking ranks at Ibrox, it feels like supporters in Govan could potentially get their wish.

Speaking on The Rangers Review on 30 January, Jack said, “If the question is, will Rangers sign a striker? I think the answer is yes. Will it be Naderi? I think it’s too early to say. I don’t think we could commit to him definitely being the one right now. But Rangers are active. They’re pursuing different alternatives. So I think they will sign a striker and everyone will get their wish in that regard.”

Southampton forward Cameron Archer has emerged as a target at Ibrox, but it remains to be seen how the situation in G51 will unfold in the next few hours.

Naderi’s Sofascore heatmap indicates he’s the sort of poacher the Gers need, but only time will tell how Rohl shapes the squad to compete with Hearts and Celtic in the second half of the season.

Danny Rohl realises one transfer necessity after Porto loss

Youssef Chermiti failed to have an impact against Porto in the Europa League on 29 January as the Gers lost 3-1 despite taking an early lead.

Bojan Miovski also came on as a second-half substitute but was hardly able to get on the ball and produce much.

The addition of a reliable goalscorer is an evident necessity at the Light Blues, even if Danilo stays until the end of the campaign.

Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises have backed Rohl in January, but they must invest further in the squad to build a competitive team.
