Ange Postecoglou has already made thoughts very clear on likely next Tottenham manager

Ange Postecoglou has previously made his thoughts clear on the surprising managerial favourite at Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs are in a time of crisis, with the Lilywhites sitting just a point above the relegation zone, while they are all but out of the Champions League following their 5-2 loss to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.

Igor Tudor was brought in to replace Thomas Frank last month, but things have continued to worsen, with the Croatian losing all four matches at the helm.

Looking back at Postecoglou’s time in North London, the Australian has already made his thoughts clear on the man who could find himself in the Spurs dugout.

Ange Posteclgou’s thoughts on Sean Dyche were made clear

Surprisingly, Sean Dyche has been tipped as the favourite among some bookmakers to take over should Tudor lose his job.

Postecoglou was sacked by Spurs last summer despite lifting the Europa League in Bilbao, with the North London club limping to a 17th-place finish in the Premier League.

Ahead of the home clash with Everton last term, he gave his thoughts on Dyche, who was in charge of the Toffees at the time.

“I think anyone who plays against Everton and a Sean Dyche team expects to be nothing less than very competitive,” Postecoglou told the media at his press conference.

“Obviously, they have got a few injuries, but the players they have out are very good players and can make things difficult for any opponent, so we’ve got to be ready for that.”

Throughout his career, Dyche has gained a reputation for being difficult to beat, after keeping Burnley in the top flight for multiple years.

Achieving the same feat with Everton, he replaced Postecoglou at Nottingham Forest earlier this season, before he lost his job at the City Ground last month.

Tottenham problems go much higher than the dugout

While Tudor has not been able to make the desired impact at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the argument is there to be made that there are much bigger issues at the club than simply who is in the dugout.

The likes of Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte and even Postecoglou have remained outspoken regarding the issues behind the scenes, yet nothing ever seems to be resolved in North London – resulting in the ongoing crisis.

Bringing in a coach with Dyche’s record would not be the worst idea. However, the same was said about Tudor prior to his Tottenham appointment, as he had also gained a firefighter reputation due to his work elsewhere.

Tottenham are in desperate need of a boost to secure survival, and it is becoming increasingly likely that this is not going to come from Tudor.

But the issue is the fact that the Lilywhites could well find themselves in the exact same situation later down the line with Dyche.
