Arne Engels departure inevitable as Celtic line up summer replacement
Arne Engels’ departure from Celtic is surely edging closer amid their renewed interest in Filip Rozga.
Engels has been linked away from the Hoops for some time and was subject to numerous offers from Nottingham Forest late in the winter window.
However, Martin O’Neill managed to keep hold of the midfielder, and he continued to play a key part in the side until his injury in mid-February.
Now, with Celtic’s transfer plans in motion, they may already be preparing to sell the 22-year-old in the summer, with the club expected to make a move for Rozga.

Celtic eye deal for Filip Rozga
According to the Daily Record on 9 March, Celtic are eyeing a move for Rozga.
The 19-year-old midfielder currently plays for Austrian Bundesliga club Sturm Graz and picked up an assist in their 2-1 win over the Hoops earlier this season.
The report explains that Celtic have now reignited their interest in the Poland international and plan on making another move in the summer.
Sturm Graz are currently top of the table and would be more open to selling at the end of this campaign.
So far this season, Rozga has scored twice and collected two assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.

However, if this goes through, it would certainly mean the end of Engels at Celtic Park.
The duo can both play in midfield while also providing cover on the wing.
While Rozga is more suited to an attacking midfielder role, he can play more centrally.
As a result, Celtic may be eyeing the 19-year-old as a replacement, hoping that they can unlock his potential going forward.
What is the situation regarding Arne Engels’ Celtic future?
Football Insider exclusively revealed last month that Engels is on Nottingham Forest’s shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Reds view the midfielder as a long-term target after impressing in the Scottish Premiership.
However, a move to the City Ground would depend on how successful their current campaign is.
A relegation to the Championship would likely end their hopes of acquiring the Celtic star.
However, it remains to be seen if the Hoops would be willing to part with Engels regardless, especially if they qualify for the Champions League by the end of the current season.
