Arne Slot is overseeing 'very unhappy camp' - Liverpool predicted to sack manager by ex-CEO
Liverpool manager Arne Slot would have to have a remarkable run of results if he has any chance of keeping his job.
That is according to ex-Everton, Aston Villa, and Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, who believes Slot will get sacked by Liverpool at the end of the season.
The Reds have picked up just seven points from their last five Premier League fixtures, and run the risk of missing out on Champions League football next season.
Slot’s only chance of winning a trophy rests with the FA Cup, where Liverpool travel to Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the competition.
Xabi Alonso is one of the favourites to replace Slot as Liverpool manager, with the Spaniard a popular choice amongst the fanbase.

Arne Slot fighting rising unrest at Liverpool
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – states there is “dissatisfaction” about Liverpool’s season at the club.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness believes there have also been issues above Slot that have contributed to the team underperforming on the pitch.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think Arne Slot, I’m afraid, will have to finish incredibly strongly, and I don’t see that happening right now.
“I see a bit of dissatisfaction in the Liverpool camp and a lot of it is to do with not just Slot, it’s gone above in terms of the last transfer window last summer and the whole database thing that we were praising so eloquently, and then now we’re seeing that the actual results haven’t worked.
“The whole Alexander Isak situation, Hugo Ekitike took some time to get into form. So there have been a few things that haven’t quite worked, and that’s really beyond Slot’s capability in terms of the transfer dealings. So overall it’s a very unhappy camp.”
Liverpool accelerate pursuit of Crystal Palace star
Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool could step up their interest in Adam Wharton ahead of the summer transfer window.
Liverpool face competition for Wharton’s signature, with Crystal Palace set to demand up to £70million for the midfielder.
The 22-year-old’s impressive performances in the Premier League, and high potential, make him an ideal signing for Liverpool if they lose the likes of Dominik Szoboszlai or Alexis Mac Allister this summer.
