Arsenal player ratings vs Fulham – Viktor Gyokeres the hero, Eberechi Eze underwhelming

Arsenal boosted their Premier League title hopes on Saturday with a brilliant 3-0 victory over Fulham at the Emirates Stadium.

It was an excellent start from Mikel Arteta’s side, as Viktor Gyokeres tapped the hosts in front nine minutes in.

From here, the hosts continued to press for a second and eventually got it as Bukayo Saka lasered the ball into the bottom corner.

Goals continued in the first half, and Gyokeres netted his second of the day with a good header just before half-time.

The second half was far less action-packed, as Arsenal saw out a simple victory.

Much has been said about Gyokeres’ lack of clinical nature since his move to Arsenal in the summer.

However, against Fulham, he truly stepped up and proved to be the key difference maker throughout.

The striker’s positioning was perfect for the opener, which allowed him to score with ease.

For his second, his header was also extremely well placed, with Fulham having no answer for the Swede.

The fact that he also picked up an assist was the icing on the cake as the Gunners edged closer to the title.

Hopefully, Gyokeres will be able to continue this form against Atletico Madrid next week as Arsenal look to secure a place in the Champions League final.

Eberechi Eze struggles against Fulham

While Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Eberechi Eze will not depart Arsenal this summer, he struggled against Fulham.

In a game where Arsenal dominated, especially in the first half, Eze could not make a significant impact.

The attacking midfielder did not create a single chance for the hosts, and was constantly dispossessed.

While this did not matter as the Gunners cruised to the win, a better display could have resulted in more goals, something that could prove vital at the end of the season.

Ahead of the Champions League semi-final second leg, Eze will hope to improve massively, with the Gunners now closing in on a memorable double.
