Arsenal vs Everton preview: Team news, lineups, prediction

Everton are back in action when they travel to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

David Moyes’ side currently sit eighth in the table and are in a great position to qualify for European football for the first time since 2017-18.

The Toffees beat Burnley 2-0 in their last match, and since that win, Arsenal have played three times in three different competitions.

Mikel Arteta’s men could still win the quadruple, and there’s no doubt that they are considered the favourites for Saturday’s match.

Everton face a tough test at the Emirates, and Goodison News brings you everything you need to know about the Premier League clash.

Head-to-head

In the reverse fixture this season, Viktor Gyokeres’ penalty was enough for the league leaders to see off the Toffees at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Everton have won just one of their last 29 away league games against Arsenal, picking up a 1-0 win in April 2021.

Additionally, Moyes has won just one of his 20 Premier League away matches against the Gunners.

It will be an almighty test for the Toffees, but they’ll be aiming to win three consecutive league games for the first time since May 2025.

Overall, Everton have beaten Arsenal 65 times, lost 113 meetings and drawn 48 matches.

Team news and predicted lineups

Although Jack Grealish is injured for the rest of the season, Moyes has the majority of his players available.

After the win over Burnley, the Scottish head coach won’t change much of his team, but he still faces a dilemma up front.

Beto has started the last two games, but Thierno Barry’s total of six goals in the last 15 games is impressive, and Moyes could favour the Frenchman’s physicality.

As for Arsenal, Mikel Merino is their only long-term absentee, while captain Martin Odegaard might not be fit in time to feature at the Emirates.

Everton predicted XI vs Arsenal on 14 March.
Everton predicted XI vs Arsenal

Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Zubimendi, Rice, Eze; Saka, Trossard, Gyokeres

Everton predicted XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, McNeil; Barry

We say: Arsenal 2-0 Everton

The league leaders are showing no signs of slowing down as they chase a historic quadruple.

Arsenal have only lost three games in all competitions this campaign, although their performances haven’t necessarily been easy on the eye.

Everton have already recorded big away wins against Man United and Aston Villa, but unfortunately, this could prove to be a step too far.

Therefore, a comfortable 2-0 win for the hosts seems likely, and Moyes will definitely look to other games for Everton to earn the points that they need in the race for Europe.
