Borussia Dortmund unveil limited-edition anniversary kit
Dortmund’s latest release is a black shirt with sandstone-coloured detailing that draws on key design elements of that historic venue. Likewise, the goalkeeper kit sports the same colour wave, albeit in reverse.
The sandstone colour scheme is inspired by the distinctive walls that have framed the Rote Erde since it was first opened back in 1926.
Similarly, the pattern embossed onto the shirt plays on that shared nostalgia, the design evoking the stadium’s two main entrance gates, and especially the famous Marathon Gate. Details on the sleeves and collar also make reference to the athletics track that runs around the outside of the pitch.
