Atalanta 2-0 Fiorentina: Ademola Lookman fires La Dea to big win as Palladino honeymoon continues
Super Eagles winger Ademola Lookman scored for Atalanta in their hard-fought 2-0 victory over Fiorentina in Bergamo on Sunday, Soccernet.ng reports.
Lookman has been in fine form for Atalanta since Raffaele Palladino took over at the club two weeks ago.
In midweek he registered a goal and an assist in La Dea’s 3-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League.
He maintained his place in the starting eleven when they welcomed Fiorentina to the Gewiss Stadium.

The first half was quite open, with chances falling to both teams. Lookman looked very sharp, but he did not get many openings that he could profit from.
Charles De Ketelaere, however, was the tormentor-in-chief, and eventually set up the opener in the 41st minute.

He played Odilon Kossounou through on goal with a fine pass on the edge of the box. The latter then stepped inside his mad and fired a well-placed shot that nestled in the top-left corner of Fiorentina’s net to make it 1-0.
Atalanta took that lead into the break. But they did not take their feet off the gas in the second half, as they continued to create chances.
It took them just six minutes to double their lead. This time, it was Lookman, who got his name on the scoreboard.
The Super Eagles star once again showed his predatory skills in the box. He pounced on a rebound off a shot from De Ketelaere and converted with aplomb in the box to make it 2-0 to Atalanta after 51 minutes.

La Dea continued to pile the pressure after Lookman scored, and Marten De Roon got close in the 54th minute, as he forced a save from David De Gea.
However, the visitors soon grew into the game and started asking some questions of their own, but they failed to beat Marco Carnesecchi in Atalanta’s goal.

La Dea held on to their lead, despite a late flurry from Fiorentina. The game eventually ended 2-0 after 90 minutes.
Ademola Lookman Continues To Shine Under Raffaele Palladino

Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman had yet another solid performance with Raffaele Palladino as coach.
Before Ivan Juric’s sack three weeks ago, it appeared that he did not have a great relationship with Lookman. And perhaps, that played a role in the Super Eagles star’s erratic form.

But under Palladino, Lookman has now registered two goals and one assist in three appearances.
It has also been back-to-back wins for La Dea, after losing to Napoli on Palladino’s debut.
Next up for Atalanta is a home fixture against Genoa, and Lookman will be looking to continue his fine run for his club.
