Barry Ferguson shares what Rohl must be enjoying at Rangers, more signings mooted

Barry Ferguson expects Rangers to sign a few more players for Danny Rohl before the end of the winter transfer window.

Andreas Skov Olsen was presented at Ibrox a few weeks back, but the Gers have since focused on completing some outgoings.

Kieran Dowell joined Hull City recently, and players such as Rabbi Matondo, Joe Rothwell and Clinton Nsiala are also being linked with departures.

While all the focus has been on who might leave the Glaswegian outfit in recent weeks, fans will surely be anticipating something big before the 2 February deadline.

Andrew Cavenagh not shy to spend for Danny Rohl at Rangers

Ferguson believes Andrew Cavenagh has shown he’s willing to back Rohl at the Gers.

The former Light Blues interim manager is anticipating one or two new signings at Ibrox in the coming days, following the recent investment from the American owners.

It isn’t surprising to see the German manager wanting to add his influence on the squad, and the Glaswegian outfit are helping him do so.

Speaking on the 5 Stars Podcast on 28 January, Ferguson said, “I think you’ll see another player or two, and that just shows you the chairman is willing to back the manager, and I’m sure the manager is enjoying that because he wants to give his bit to the team as well. Let’s be honest, it’s not his squad; he’s inherited it. He wants to add his touch to it, and I think you’re seeing that with the players he’s brought in.”

Rohl may be looking to get a marquee signing through the door at Ibrox, and the situation in G51 will be worth keeping an eye on.

The Govan side are second in the William Hill Premiership, and their transfer business may give them the edge over Hearts and Celtic.

Danny Rohl already knows who his fourth signing should be at Ibrox

Rohl wants Hansa Rostock striker Ryan Naderi, and the German manager will surely know all about his compatriot.

Danilo seems to be on his way out of Rangers, and that will undoubtedly mean a number nine will be coming through the door sooner rather than later, and the 22-year-old German forward’s Sofascore rating for this season looks promising.

Youssef Chermiti and Bojan Miovski have failed to be reliable goalscorers for Rohl, and a quality number nine could potentially be the final puzzle in the Glaswegian outfit’s title push.

It’s certainly going to be a busy few days in Govan, and only time will tell how the Light Blues will fare.
