Championship club wants 'Hefty' fee for Everton to complete last-ditch raid before 7pm Monday - report

David Moyes’ push for a new Everton right-back isn’t over yet in the winter transfer market.

The Friedkin Group have yet to sign any new additions for the Toffees, with Monday’s deadline fast approaching.

Moyes is said to be keen on adding a right-back to his ranks, with multiple names mentioned, including Bayern Munich’s Sacha Boey and Bologna’s Emil Holm.

Everton are interested in signing Femi Seriki from Championship side Sheffield United as well as Blackburn Rovers’ Ryan Alebiosu.

However, the Toffees’ full focus may be on Seriki in particular.

Time is fast running out for Moyes to add new faces to his squad, but the later stages of the winter market are always where the most movement happens.

Seriki has grown through Sheffield United’s youth ranks over the years, and is having arguably his best seasons for the Blades this term.

According to The Star on Friday, Sheffield United are said to be reluctant to lose Seriki in the transfer window, with Everton’s interest listed, but things are complicated due to his contract expiring in 2027.

There is a suggestion that a hefty price tag could force the Blades into selling their key man, as Chris Wilder looks to take care of his side’s short and long-term future.

It’s unclear as to whether talks have officially begun between the camps, but the Toffees are reportedly keeping tabs on the Englishman.

The Blues may go all in for the defender, especially after they hear the recent news about Alebiosu.

What has Ryan Alebiosu said about transfer talk?

Everton may not have full access to the transfer funds that people may think this window, or it could be a case of the Friedkin Group saving money for a push in the summer.

Either way, the next few days will be telling, but the Toffees now seem increasingly unlikely to sign Alebiosu from Blackburn.

In a question surrounding his future with the Championship side, Alebiosu confirmed his wish to remain with Blackburn beyond Monday’s deadline.

Alebiosu said, as quoted by RoversXtra on X: “I have heard a few things, but my mind isn’t on that. I am focused on getting as fit as possible and helping the team. Everything out there is not what I am looking at. I expect to be here, 100%.”

So it doesn’t look like the Blues will have any luck in their tracking of the Blackburn star, but attention may now shift to Seriki.
