Chelsea 0-3 Man City: Arsenal on notice as Pep Guardiola’s men demolish Blues
Manchester City completed a perfect weekend for them as they hammered Chelsea 3-0 at Stamford Bridge to keep their Premier League title hopes very much alive.
After Arsenal were beaten at home by Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon, Pep Guardiola’s men had the chance to cut their deficit to six points and they took it in style.
City host the Gunners next and have a game in hand on them, so the title race looks tight once again.
It actually looked like it could be a tricky day for the visitors in west London as Chelsea started well and the game was still goalless at half-time, with few clear chances.
Marc Cucurella had a goal ruled out for offside in a half which saw City dominate the ball but produce little cutting edge as they remained a bit ponderous on the ball.
However, whatever Guardiola told his players at the break worked wonders as they came out with much more intensity and aggression.
Nico O’Reilly nodded in the opener after 51 minutes and Marc Guehi brilliantly fired in a second just six minutes later.

The travelling team was relentless as the home side faltered, with Moises Caicedo giving the ball away to Jeremy Doku to fire in a third on 68 minutes.
That was the game over, with Chelsea creating the odd chance but largely unable to live with a City side that had moved through the gears.
Liam Rosenior’s side remain sixth and four points behind Liverpool in fifth, but just one point ahead of Brentford and Everton.
City now train their focus on the Gunners, seemingly with the momentum as Mikel Arteta’s men are stalling.
