‘Chelsea players will question Liam Rosenior’ as ‘horrible’ footage shared after loss vs Arsenal
Liam Rosenior could be about to face questions from his Chelsea squad for the first time after they were beaten by Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
The Blues headed to the Emirates Stadium facing a one-goal deficit from the first leg of the tie, but struggled to get a foothold in the game as Arsenal booked their place in the Wembley final with a 1-0 win on the night.
Kai Havertz netted a stoppage-time winner for Arsenal as they triumphed 4-2 on aggregate over their London rivals, and earned the chance to play for the first piece of domestic silverware of the campaign on 22 March.
Rosenior has enjoyed a bright start to his Chelsea tenure, with the pair of Carabao Cup defeats his only losses since taking the job, but questions will be asked of him after the Arsenal clash.

Liam Rosenior under scrutiny after failed control vs Arsenal
Chelsea struggled to create clear-cut chances against Arsenal on Tuesday night, as they were ultimately knocked out of the Carabao Cup with a whimper.
Rosenior’s methods have stood the Stamford Bridge outfit in good stead so far since his arrival, but this time around, his team have been criticised for not taking the game to their opponents more.
However, in the aftermath of their defeat, it is footage of a moment that the Chelsea boss himself produced on the touchline that has been dominating discussions among the fans.
The 41-year-old attempted to control a ball that was dropping out the sky towards him on the side of the pitch, but failed to collect it cleanly as it bounced on his shin and ran away from him.
Supporters quickly took to X to share their reactions to the clip, with one Chelsea fan even suggesting that it was a “horrible look” for the boss, and adding that “his own players will question him” after seeing the clip.
Arsenal fans saw the funny side of the situation, as one supporter labelled it as “the second best moment of the whole night,” while another suggested that the lack of creativity from his team was a bigger problem for Rosenior.
- @GoldenGoonerlg: “I think he has more to worry about than that, they had ONE shot on target.”
- @user199964: “Spent 90 mins trying to age men rather than win the game.”
- @AFChighstandard: “Rosenior, a failed Hull player and manager.”
Ex-refs chief reacts to handball incident in Arsenal vs Chelsea
Former PGMOL chief and ex-FIFA referee Keith Hackett told Football Insider that VAR were correct to not intervene after an appeal for a penalty against Wesley Fofana on Tuesday night.
Fofana jumped in an attempt to beat Piero Hincapie in an aerial challenge inside the Chelsea box, and the ball struck his arm as his hands rose around his opponent’s shoulders.
Referee Peter Banks saw nothing wrong with the incident, and VAR reached the same conclusion after a brief review, and a corner was awarded to Arsenal.
Hackett feels that the officiating team reached the correct decision, as he outlined that Fofana’s arm was in a natural position while trying to climb to win the aerial duel.
