Premier League GW24 stat leaders: Arokodare, Aina, Iwobi impress for Wolves, Forest, Fulham

Three Nigerian internationals stood out statistically across Gameweek 24 of the 2025-26 Premier League season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Super Eagles stars Ola Aina, Tolu Arokodare and Alex Iwobi featured among the division’s top performers in several key categories, according to Squawka

Despite playing over an hour with ten men, Nottingham Forest remained competitive in their 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace, thanks in large part to the influence of Ola Aina. The Super Eagles defender delivered one of the most complete individual displays of the weekend, topping the league charts for successful take-ons with six.

Aina finished ahead of teammates Elliot Anderson, as well as Liverpool’s Cody Gakpo and Tottenham’s Xavi Simons, highlighting his attacking confidence from full-back. Fellow Nigerian international Tolu Arokodare also made the top ten list for take-ons, completing three as Wolves pushed forward in difficult conditions.

Former Chelsea defender Aina was equally dominant off the ball. He ranked among the league’s most effective players in duels won, claiming 11; with only Manchester City’s Rodri and Forest’s Anderson registering higher numbers.

Aina further impressed by regaining possession eight times, again placing him among the top performers of the weekend and highlighting his defensive intelligence and work rate.

Premier League stat masters: Arokodare, Iwobi

While Wolves suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, Tolu Arokodare remained one of the most active forwards in the division. The Nigerian striker fired five shots across the match, the second-highest total of Gameweek 24, with only Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike managing more.

Three of Arokodare’s efforts tested the goalkeeper, once again ranking second among all players for shots on target. His sharp movement and willingness to shoot provided Wolves with their main attacking outlet despite the defeat.

At Old Trafford, Alex Iwobi was one of Fulham’s brightest performers in a narrow 3-2 loss to Manchester United. The Super Eagles midfielder led his team for completed final-third passes, registering 26, showing his importance in linking midfield to attack.

Across the league, Aston Villa defenders Ian Maatsen and Ezri Konsa topped the category overall, but Iwobi’s contribution stood out among Fulham’s squad.

Attention now turns to another busy weekend, with Aina hoping to maintain his fine form when Nottingham Forest travel to Elland Road to face Leeds United on Friday night.

Fulham host Everton at Craven Cottage on Saturday, where Iwobi will be eager to impress against his former club, while Arokodare and Wolves welcome Chelsea as they continue their fight to avoid relegation.
