Chris Jack clarifies 20-yr-old midfielder’s whereabouts in Rangers transfer latest

Jens Hjerto-Dahl has been constantly linked with a move to Rangers in the winter transfer window.

Danny Rohl has shown a willingness to dip into the Scandinavian market already, with Danish midfielder Tochi Chukwuani becoming his first Rangers signing.

Andreas Skov Olsen is also Danish, despite playing his football with German side Wolfsburg, from whom he joined the Ibrox side on loan.

The next signing that the former Sheffield Wednesday manager makes could also be from the region, but Norway rather than Denmark.

Jens Hjerto-Dahl to Rangers speculation shot down

Rangers social media was going crazy over the idea that the club were set to return to their interest in Hjerto-Dahl after sorting priority positions.

However, Chris Jack has shot down rumours that he was at Ibrox and a deal to bring him to Govan was near completion.

He revealed that the 20-year-old is with Tromso at their training camp in Portugal, not heading to Glasgow to join the Light Blues.

Taking to X on 22 January, he said: “He is not in Glasgow. He’s in Portugal on pre-season with Tromso.”

Why Hjerto-Dahl would be perfect for Rangers

The Gers are understood to have scouted the Tromso star for a long time now, and he would be a brilliant addition to the engine room.

The Gers have lacked steel in midfield this season, and the 6’4 ace would add a physical presence into the mix for Rohl.

He may cost a pretty penny, with a reported price tag of over £3.5million, but it would be a wise investment given his vast experience already.

He already has 75 appearances in Norway’s top-flight, which is impressive at such a young age, and suggests he would have no issue adapting to Scottish football.

The Under-21 international has the passing range and the physical ability that the Bears are crying out for in the middle of the park.

The 49ers Enterprises group have shown that they are willing to splash the cash, and if they were to sign Hjerto-Dahl, it may be the most transformative addition of their reign so far.

The latest from Jack suggests that a deal is not imminent, but the G51 outfit have proven that they can act fast when an opportunity arises, so it may be one to watch in the next week or so.
