Chris Sutton hits back at what Ally McCoist just said about Celtic & Rangers live on air
Chris Sutton has made a sarcastic dig at Ally McCoist after the Rangers icon alleged that Celtic are “running” Scottish football.
On Tuesday, the SPFL announced the post-split fixture list for the final five games of the season.
In that stretch, second-placed Rangers host Motherwell and Hibernian, but are away to title rivals Celtic and Hearts, in addition to an overperforming Falkirk team, who they also meet on Sunday.
Third-placed Celtic, on the other hand, have three home matches, whereas Hearts have two.
Former Rangers star McCoist was not best pleased with the fixture reveal, prompting ex-Celtic man Sutton to try and put him down.

Ally McCoist bemoans Rangers’ fixture list
Before Rangers can worry about the second phase of the league campaign, the Gers travel to Falkirk on Sunday, with Danny Rohl’s team just one point off top spot.
Celtic are two points back in third, as the most exciting title race in years heats up. But McCoist was less chipper about Rangers’ remaining fixtures.

He joked on talkSPORT on Wednesday: “Gabby [Agbonlahor], you couldn’t get a bet on them [Celtic] having a home fixture for their final game of the season…”
When the former Aston Villa man asked why, McCoist replied: “Well, they are running the thing up here, aren’t they? That’s why. They are absolutely running it, mate. They have got four of the last six at home, and we have got four of six away – you couldn’t make it up, pal.”
McCoist later said, “all kidding aside”, this title race was too close to call.
He added, “We have got to go to Falkirk twice. It’s brilliant, it’s a three-way title race. I think there are still a lot of points to be dropped. I can’t see anyone winning all the games, I really can’t.”
After seeing this on social media, Sutton couldn’t resist taking a swipe at the Rangers legend.
“How dare Celtic have 19 games at home and 19 away,” he joked.
Due to there being five games in the post-game split, someone has to have three home matches based on their earlier fixtures. But the fact that it is Celtic has clearly angered many Rangers fans.
Rangers’ away form could be the key to title win
Naturally, Rangers supporters would have wanted to have three games at Ibrox in the hope that home advantage could secure them their first league title since 2021.
And while they have only lost once in 17 games in the league on home turf, they have the best points per game record in the division away from home.
They have picked up 28 points from 15 games, at a PPG ratio of 1.87. Celtic have picked up 30 points from 17 games, but their PPG is down at 1.76.

Hearts have the best home form with 40 points from 16 games at a PPG of 2.5, Rangers’ PPG is 2.24, whereas Celtic’s is at 2.27.
With just three points to split between all three teams, this is going down to the wire as Rangers aim to come out on top for the first time in years.
