Wilfred Ndidi: Besiktas sweating over Super Eagles star after latest setback

Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi is set for a short spell on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ndidi has been a key player for the Black Eagles since joining from Leicester City in an €8 million transfer last summer. This season, he has featured in 22 league games, with two goals to his name.

He has also distinguished himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in Turkey, although his brilliance has hardly improved Besiktas' placement on the Super Lig table.

Last weekend, he played 86 minutes against Fenerbahce in what turned out to be a disappointing 1-0 loss.

Ndidi was cautioned by the referee in that game after a bad tackle, which resulted in an automatic one-game suspension.

That would have automatically ruled him out of action for their next Super Lig game against Antalyaspor.

However, fresh updates from Turkey indicate that the Manchester United target will spend the next two weeks on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury.

How Many Games Will Wilfred Ndidi Miss For Besiktas?

With his recent injury, Wilfred Ndidi is expected to spend two weeks on the sidelines.

This means that he will miss Besiktas' next game against Antalyaspor on Friday. He is also a doubt for their game against Samsunspor on April 19.

This injury comes at a bad time for the Black Eagles, as they are chasing a continental football finish.

With six games left to play, they are 11 points behind Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce. They are also six points ahead of Goztepe.

They can't afford any slip-ups in his absence, as that could cost them their league placement with Goztepe breathing down their necks.
