Crystal Palace fans are losing their minds over Brennan Johnson very soon after move from Tottenham
Tottenham may be better off without Brennan Johnson going by the reaction of Crystal Palace fans.
Tottenham signed Johnson from Nottingham Forest for £47.5million in September 2023 and had a solid spell in north London.
The Wales international scored 27 goals and added 18 assists in 107 appearances, and Johnson scored the winner as Tottenham won last season’s Europa League.
Despite ending Spurs’ 17-year wait for a trophy, Johnson was sold to Palace in early January for a club record £35m.
However, Palace fans appear to be turning on the club and Johnson after a disappointing start to life at Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace fans want Steve Parish ‘sacked’ over Brennan Johnson deal
While Tottenham boss Thomas Frank is at risk of being sacked, things are also pretty bleak at Palace.
Captain Marc Guehi has joined Manchester City, manager Oliver Glasner is departing at the end of the season, striker Jean-Phillippe Mateta wants to leave, Palace have slid to 15th in the Premier League, and are on an 11-match winless streak in all competitions.
Moreover, Johnson has failed to score in five games for Palace, with many supporters criticising his performances so far.
After the 10 men of Palace lost 3-1 to Chelsea last weekend, some supporters called on chairman Steve Parish to be sacked.
One fan wrote on X, “£35m on Brennan ******* Johnson. Our record signing is Brennan ******* Johnson. Parish should’ve been sacked for that alone.”
One Palace fan commented, “He was top scorer for Spurs last season with 18 goals – EIGHTEEN!! He’s barely had a shot on target for us so far,” and another tweeted, “He’s been a ghost for five games in a row.”

Tottenham and Crystal Palace in crisis mode
Tottenham and Palace have endured a wretched run of form in 2026, with the former 14th and the latter a place further back.
It is perhaps telling that Tottenham’s last win in the league was way back on 28 December, 2025, away to Palace.
It is feasible that both Frank and Glasner could be out of the job in the coming weeks, with the relegation zone looming large like an icy spectre.

To make matters worse for Tottenham, Frank’s side have a daunting run of fixtures coming up.
In the league, they host second-placed Manchester City, travel to a rejuvenated Manchester United, and then entertain Newcastle United and league leaders Arsenal in February.
If new signings are not made soon, Spurs could be in real trouble, and the same could be said for Palace.
