Crystal Palace next manager: Frank Lampard odds tumble as Coventry City eye replacement

Crystal Palace are on the hunt for their next manager and have been continuously linked with Frank Lampard.

With Oliver Glasner set to depart at the end of the season, the Eagles are in need of a coach to lead them out for the 2026-27 campaign.

Lampard has been linked to the role throughout 2026 thanks to his fine work at Coventry City, where he has recently led them to the Championship title.

Now, the former Everton boss is 4/1 to make a summer switch to Selhurst Park, with Oddschecker on 29 April confirming that his odds have been slashed.

In recent weeks, Lampard has also been linked to Chelsea, but now Palace may make a bold appointment.

Frank Lampard has plenty of interest this summer

Lampard’s work at Coventry City has not been underestimated.

The 47-year-old has now taken the Sky Blues back to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years, beating the likes of Ipswich Town and Southampton to the top spot.

It has been a remarkable turnaround, with Coventry struggling in the Championship when Lampard took over last season.

As a result, Lampard has been heavily linked to multiple Premier League clubs in recent months, with his reputation now repaired.

In the Premier League, he had previously guided Chelsea to the Champions League and FA Cup final, as well as kept Everton in the division despite their troubles.

Now, with Lampard set to be in a Premier League dugout next season, it remains to be seen which team he will be coaching.

Coventry City sound out John Eustace

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Coventry City have sounded out John Eustace in case Lampard departs.

The Derby County manager has impressed at numerous Championship clubs over the years, and could still earn promotion this season via the playoffs.

Coventry have held informal discussions with third parties about acquiring the Rams’ boss.

Eustace has been the Derby manager since 2025 after leaving Blackburn Rovers to take the role.

However, it remains to be seen if Coventry look to appoint the manager if Lampard chooses to leave the club this summer, with the Derby boss lacking any Premier League managerial experience.
