Curtis Jones: Everything Arne Slot said about Liverpool star after half-time exit vs Fulham
Curtis Jones became Liverpool‘s latest injury scare as the academy graduate was replaced at half-time at Anfield.
With a Champions League quarter-final second leg on Tuesday, 14 April, Arne Slot clearly had that in mind with some of his selections, as Ryan Gravenberch, Milos Kerkez and Hugo Ekitike were all rested.
Gravenberch, however, was stripped and ready for the second half, and Jones never came back down the tunnel in a full kit, adding to the Reds’ injury woes before the final few games of the season.
Slot has had to contend with various injuries during the 2025-26 campaign, and the under-pressure Dutchman has now shared everything possible after talking to his player in the dressing room.

Curtis Jones injury spells bad news for Liverpool
Jones has started just 12 of the Reds’ Premier League matches this season, being forced to play a squad role at Anfield, while Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister usually partner in midfield.
Speaking about the player’s new injury after the game, Slot said: “He felt a little bit in his groin. I would be surprised if a player comes off that he will be available for Tuesday.
“I will say welcome to our season. After a win, there’s always an injury following it up.”
Curtis Jones vs Fulham Stats [FotMob] Minutes played 45 Touches 43 Passing accuracy 97% (37/38) Touches in opposition box 2 Recoveries 5 Ground duels won 50% (1/2)
Despite the midfielder only playing a bit-part role this season, it would certainly be a blow to see him miss the end-of-season run-in, with still so much to play for at Anfield.
Who else is Arne Slot missing at Anfield?
Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, Stefan Bajcetic and Wataru Endo are among those sidelined until the end of the season, but none of that is news to those at Anfield.
Alisson’s injury might be better than first feared, but with Giorgi Mamardashvili in between the sticks, there is not a huge cry for the goalkeeper to be swapped imminently.
Alexander Isak has returned from his broken leg, being given a small number of minutes against PSG and Fulham, and he might be able to play a big role in the final few games of the season.
However, Football Insider understands that Bradley’s injury could force Liverpool into the market during the summer months, so the hope will be that Jones’ setback is only minor.
