Danny Rohl has perfect opportunity to pounce for Tyrese Campbell after latest Rangers transfer news

Danny Rohl now has the perfect chance to make an approach for Tyrese Campbell after he was ruled out for the rest of the season at Sheffield United.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to both Rangers and Celtic ahead of the summer transfer window.

The striker has had a tricky season to date, after struggling to find the net, and his campaign only worsened this week as Chris Wilder confirmed that a knee injury would keep him out of the remaining games.

However, Rangers could now use this to their advantage, as they look to beat their Old Firm rivals to his signature.

Below, Football Insider has explored how Campbell’s injury could speed up a move to Rangers.

Rangers continue to target Tyrese Campbell

While the addition of Campbell may seem underwhelming to some, if the Gers can get him back on form, he could become a formidable signing.

The Sheffield United star was fantastic off the bench last campaign and was crucial in their run to the Championship playoff final.

Now, Rangers should use the fact that he has been sidelined to their advantage.

The fact that the striker is now out of the picture until the end of the season means that he will no longer be focusing on his football on the pitch

This presents Rohl with the opportunity to make an approach while he is out of action and potentially beat Celtic to the transfer.

Which other strikers are Rangers targeting?

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Rangers are keeping tabs on Philippe Keny.

The FC Zurich striker has impressed in the Swiss Super League and has scored 12 goals in 26 matches.

The 26-year-old is also wanted by multiple other British sides and had attracted strong interest during the mid-season window, with clubs from France, Belgium and the English Championship having made moves for him.

Rangers could have to pay up to £6million to capture the attacker in the summer transfer window, with his contract currently set to expire in 2028.

It remains to be seen if Rohl is able to win the race for the Senegal international, or if another club will beat them to the striker’s signature.
