David Bentley has issued a message about Mauricio Pochettino as the former Tottenham Hotspur boss responded to calls for his return.

At the moment, the future of Igor Tudor looks to be in doubt, despite him only arriving on an interim basis back in February.

Spurs continue to falter in the relegation battle under the Croatian, with Tudor yet to oversee a win for the Lilywhites.

Pochettino has been linked to being Tottenham’s next manager, and ahead of their Champions League bout against Atletico Madrid, he seemingly ran into Tottenham fans, with Bentley responding to the interaction.

As Tottenham fans jetted off to Madrid to watch the Lilywhites in European action, a familiar face joined them on board.

Former Spurs manager Pochettino was spotted boarding the flight to the Spanish capital, as shared by talkSPORT on Instagram, and the North London club’s supporters took their chance to convince him to return.

“Pochettino, he’s magic” chants ensued on board the flight, and fans also could be heard saying, “We want you back.”

The Argentinian appeared to enjoy the interaction, as he acknowledged the Tottenham fans with a smile and a thumbs up.

Bentley, who played for Spurs between 2008 and 2013, also enjoyed the scenes and can be found in the comments section responding.

The former Tottenham midfielder simply stated, “What a legend” followed by two heart emojis.

While the interaction was wholesome, the images of Pochettino heading off to watch Tottenham in action against Atletico Madrid are surely going to fuel those rumours of a return.

Pochettino is one of the favourites for the Tottenham job, but his appointment would have to wait to be confirmed until after the 2026 World Cup.

At the moment, he is still contracted to lead the United States of America onto the pitch in the home tournament.

Tudor could be on his last legs at Tottenham already, and while staying in the Premier League must be priority number one, a strong result in Europe over two legs could embolden the players and fans.

Atletico Madrid are a tough opposition, and if the Croatian can show supporters he can get the best out of this Spurs squad, he may gain a little more credit in the bank.

Additionally, Tottenham’s players could also be shown that they have the quality to compete against one of the best sides in Europe.

They may then believe they could head back to England and compete with the rest of the league, as a tough fixture against Liverpool this weekend awaits.
