David de Gea sends honest message to Antonin Kinsky after Igor Tudor hook vs Atletico Madrid
Antonin Kinsky had a night to forget for Tottenham Hotspur, and former Manchester United man David de Gea has now issued a show of support.
Kinsky was involved in two calamitous errors for Spurs against Atletico Madrid, with manager Igor Tudor making the huge call to take him off after 16 minutes.
The Czech goalkeeper did not appear to be injured, but rather it was the Croatian making a tactical decision, as the 22-year-old failed to live up to the occasion.
Kinsky is certain to feel quite low in confidence after Tottenham’s loss to Atletico Madrid, but de Gea, who has been involved in plenty of errors himself, has looked to comfort him.

What did David de Gea say to Antonin Kinsky?
As Kinsky was brought off the pitch, it was a moment that both shocked and caught the attention of the football world.
Making a tactical substitution involving a goalkeeper is quite rare, and doing so after just 16 minutes is likely unheard of.
De Gea, who was seemingly keeping an eye on the Champions League action on Tuesday night, was among those who reacted to the substitution.
The Spaniard said: “No one who hasn’t been a goalkeeper can understand how difficult it is to play in this position. Keep your head up and you will go again.”
For the 22-year-old, his chance to “go again” may end up coming away from N17.
Spurs fans had called for Kinsky to start over the last few weeks, but those shouts will likely disappear with his future at Tottenham surely in question now.
How David de Gea example could console Antonin Kinsky at Tottenham
De Gea is uniquely positioned to sympathise with Kinsky, as he actually had a similar error early on in his stint at Manchester United.
As the Red Devils took on Benfica in November 2012, they needed a win to keep themselves in the Champions League after a poor start to the group stage.
United found themselves 2-1 up, but shortly after taking the lead, de Gea would commit a mistake to level the score.

Similarly to Kinsky’s first error in Madrid, the Spaniard made a real mess of a backpass, mishitting a clearance with the ball falling to Benfica.
The Portuguese side ultimately scored from that mistake, and that season United would fail to qualify for the knockout stage.
In the following season, de Gea bounced back to win the Premier League title. While Kinsky may not reach those heights next year, it shows that he can still come back from the calamity in Madrid.
