'Dead man walking' - Scots journo shares verdict on Rohl as curtain falls on Rangers stint
Danny Rohl saw the curtain falling on his Rangers tenure after losing to Hearts in the William Hill Premiership on Monday.
That’s what Scottish journalist Stephen McGowan believes, as the German manager looks like a “dead man walking” after Derek McInnes’ team beat the Gers 2-1 in Gorgie on 4 May.
McGowan feels that with fans beginning to turn on the 37-year-old head coach, it won’t be long before he’s shown the exit door.
Rohl’s record in big games at Ibrox has been underwhelming and despite going into the post-split fixtures with momentum on their side, the Govan side have capitulated when it mattered most.
Andrew Cavenagh has a decision to make at Ibrox regarding the German manager and the tense situation in G51 has the potential to blow up.

Danny Rohl needs to make changes quickly at Rangers
Speaking on PLZ Soccer on 6 May, McGowan said, “I think their night was the curtain falling on Rohl. Even if it doesn’t happen immediately, I think he has got the air of a dead man walking at the minute because effectively the favour of the fans has gone.”
Fans have been left frustrated by Rohl’s inability to react in games when things are going against the Gers.

In recent matches against Celtic, Motherwell and Hearts, the Light Blues have done well at times, but have struggled to dominate the entire game.
The German manager’s inexperience in top-flight management was a concern for many supporters in G51 when he was appointed and maybe they are being proven right.
Considering the weight of expectations at the Glaswegian outfit, the former Sheffield Wednesday boss will surely need to win some major honours in the coming months after what’s been seen as a transition season in Govan due to Russell Martin’s initial disaster.
Andrew Cavenagh has made thoughts clear on Danny Rohl
Cavenagh is expected to back Rohl in the upcoming transfer window as the American owners look to get Rangers back to the top.
The Gers weren’t afraid to splash the cash in January to give the German manager extra quality to push for the William Hill Premiership title, indicating their faith in him.

It seems like Cavenagh is ready to go ahead with Rohl at the helm for the foreseeable future and fans can’t blame him after what happened under Martin.
The former Owls boss has brought stability back to the Glaswegian outfit and he seems like the best fit to take them forward for now.
