'Devastated' - Danny Murphy reacts instantly to Everton transfer update live on air
Dwight McNeil’s £20million move to Crystal Palace has been called off.
After plenty of developments late on deadline day, it has now been reported McNeil is staying at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
David Ornstein has reported that Palace made a U-turn on the initial agreement due to wanting to change the terms in wake of Jean-Philippe Mateta’s own exit collapses.
David Moyes had been keen to let go of McNeil, who has been incredibly underwhelming for the Toffees all season.
And Danny Murphy believes he’ll be gutted that he has missed out on the chance to play for the Eagles.

Dwight McNeil to feel frustrated that Crystal Palace transfer hasn’t gone through
Everton fans would have been thrilled to hear that they could have been getting £20m for the 26-year-old wide player.
He has only started seven matches in the top flight this campaign and has failed to impress when called upon.
McNeil was undergoing a medical, and a deal sheet had been submitted to the Premier League, but Palace ultimately pulled out at the eleventh hour.
The transfer was a loan move with an obligation to buy clause, and Everton will now have to adjust to having the English winger back in the squad.

Speaking on talkSPORT after being told the breaking news of that collapse, Murphy said he feels McNeil would have a great fit for Palace, and he’ll feel aggrieved that the move didn’t materialise.
He said: “He would have been looking forward to a fresh challenge and playing more minutes, so he’ll be devastated.
“We don’t know the reasons why yet. From Palace’s point of view, it’s a loss because he fills lots of roles and is super fit. He’s different from what Palace have got.”
To make matters worse for McNeil, he now has extra competition out wide as Everton completed the loan signing of Tyrique George.
McNeil set for more misery at Everton
The Chelsea man will play in L4 for the remainder of the season, and there is an option to make the move permanent in the summer.
The England Under-21 attacker has been limited to first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge, and his development has certainly stalled.
Joining Everton will allow the 19-year-old winger to have a consistent run of games in the team due to Jack Grealish’s season-ending injury.
This is a terrible predicament for McNeil to find himself in, but he has to move on from the transfer saga immediately.
With his contract expiring in June 2027, a summer exit now looks likely if the Toffees want to earn any sort of transfer fee for him.
