Di Marzio shares comprehensive Sky Sports update as Everton make approach for late striker signing
Everton have made an enquiry to secure the services of Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri.
En-Nesyri was first linked to Everton at the halfway point of this winter transfer window, as David Moyes desperately searches for a centre-forward addition.
Everton may wish to sign En-Nesyri on loan with an obligation to buy, as the Toffees go in search of their first new signing of the winter window.
Moyes has wanted En-Nesyri since his time as West Ham manager, and with the Moroccan international seemingly available for a move before 2 February, he could now finally get his wish.

Gianluca Di Marzio offers Everton fresh Youssef En-Nesyri hope
En-Nesyri has been in excellent goalscoring form since he signed for Fenerbahce in the summer of 2024, with stats by Sofascore showing he’s averaged a goal every 135 minutes this season.
So far, the 28-year-old has bagged 34 times in 74 total appearances for the Turkish giants, with 30 of those coming in 52 games for them last season.
In 2025-26, the former Sevilla man has hit eight goals in 25 total games, but has been potent in the Turkish Super Lig, scoring seven in 15.
Therefore, it’s no surprise to see him being linked with a big move away from Fenerbahce, and having scored 73 times in 196 games for Sevilla too, he’s a player that has proven himself to be a top quality striker.
And, in a fresh update from transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio via Sky Sports on Monday, Everton, alongside Nottingham Forest and Napoli, have approached Fenerbahce over the possibility of securing his signature.

Forest have signed Lorenzo Lucca from Napoli though, and so may no longer be in the market for another striker this winter.
However, Juventus are also reported to be cooling their interest in Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta after being unable to reach their £35million asking price, and have held talks to sign En-Nesyri over the weekend.
But, whilst the Serie A outfit are revealed to have agreed terms with En-Nesyri last week, the player himself is said to be ‘unsure’ over a move to Turin.
His former club Sevilla are also mooted as being interested in a reunion this month, but it remains unclear whether that would be something he’d be keen on.
Everton must cash in on golden En-Nesyri opportunity
With En-Nesyri seemingly not sold on Juventus, and with Nottingham Forest already having dipped into the striker market, now seems like the ideal time for Everton to strike.
If Juventus and Forest are indeed out of the running, then Sevilla and Napoli should be seen as competition that Everton can fend off.
Napoli already have Rasmus Hojlund and Romelu Lukaku, and have signed striker Giovane Nascimento from Hellas Verona in the last few days too.
Meanwhile, Sevilla are currently sitting 11th in LaLiga, and may not be a hugely attractive proposition for a reunion as such.
On top of that, they have a striker in Akor Adams who has hit a respectable six goals and provided two assists in 16 league games, and so he may not be easy to budge from the starting XI.
