Everton learn financial repercussions of Grealish injury amid talks with Man City - report
Everton have been hit with one of the worst possible outcomes in the case of Jack Grealish’s injury.
The Toffees signed the former England international on a season-long loan in the summer, which contained an ambitious £50million option to buy.
Grealish struggled for game time with Manchester City, which opened up his transfer to Merseyside, and it had proved to be a success up until recently.
The winger has been dealt a major blow after suffering a broken foot, as it’s believed that he will be out until mid-April at the very least.
There has been speculation over what Everton are going to do with Grealish, given the high wages that the Friedkin Group are forking out on the loanee, but the answers are becoming clear.

Talks ongoing over Jack Grealish’s return to Manchester City
Moyes has confirmed that Everton won’t trigger the £50m buy option in Grealish’s loan contract, with the expenses simply too high for the Blues to pay.
Despite this, the 30-year-old has seemed to become an adopted Evertonian and has taken life on Merseyside like a duck to water, which is why fans are so devastated to learn of his setback.
There have been suggestions to say that Everton may have to pay off Grealish’s wages, but the truth has now been confirmed.
- Grealish’s wage at Manchester City is £300,000
- Everton are currently covering £225,000 of his salary
Grealish’s loan contract with the Toffees expires in the summer, and if he is to stay on Merseyside, then the Blues will spend over £3million on wages until the end of the campaign
According to a well-respected Everton source on X, ElBobble, Everton are in fact set to pay their share of the Englishman’s salary until the end of the season.
Talks between Man City and the Blues have been in place over the situation, but there is currently no option that would see the winger return to his parent club.
At this moment in time, it looks like Grealish will remain at Everton until the end of the season, with the Friedkin Group expected to pay millions for a player who will be mostly seen at Finch Farm.

Everton set for difficult Dwight McNeil situation amid Grealish concern
Reports on Friday have suggested that former Everton boss Sean Dyche is interested in a reunion with Dwight McNeil at Nottingham Forest.
Many supporters would have been glad to see the back of the left-winger just a couple of weeks ago, but Grealish’s injury may have changed the whole picture.
Moyes was forced to start with McNeil on the right in the 1-1 draw against Leeds on Monday, as Iliman Ndiaye was shifted back out to the left.

The Everton boss is now really lacking in numbers out wide, and the Toffees may have to do a U-turn on their decision with McNeil.
That’s especially if the Friedkin Group continue with their current trend of waiting for things to happen in the transfer market, with just days left to go, and time running out for replacements.
