Fenerbahce are set to hold a meeting with the representatives of Beto as they look to sign the Everton striker in the winter transfer window.

The Guinea-Bissau centre-forward has played backup to Thierno Barry at the Toffees this season and has struggled to stake his claim in the starting lineup.

Beto has arguably let David Moyes down this season after being handed the number nine shirt by the Blues for his impressive displays in the previous campaign.

The likes of Fenerbahce’s Youssef En-Nesyri have been linked with a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, and it looks like the Merseyside outfit are preparing for the eventual departure for the former Udinese attacker.

Fenerbahce set for talks with Beto agent as offer sent to Everton

Beto’s agent has arrived in Istanbul for a meeting with Fenerbahce’s management, according to Resat Can Ozbudak.

The Turkish journalist revealed on 23 January that the Super Lig club will convene talks with the striker’s camp at the club building, and the topic of discussion will surely be his departure from the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

This update has come right after Yagız Sabuncuoglu claimed that Fenerbahce have sent an official offer to sign Beto.

As things stand, Moyes has only two natural number nines at his disposal in the Guinea-Bissau national and Barry, and it wouldn’t make sense for the Toffees to sanction any departures.

While the Merseyside outfit’s two strikers haven’t lived up to expectations so far, with six goals between them in the Premier League this season, the Scottish manager doesn’t have the luxury of options.

It would arguably take a monumental offer and a replacement being already lined up in L4 for Beto to leave for Istanbul midway through the season.

David Moyes has perfect transfer targets to replace Beto in January

Moyes wants Callum Wilson at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the England international considering terminating his contract at the London Stadium.

However, the Toffees can’t just sign the 33-year-old on a free transfer and think they can potentially replace Beto.

AZ Alkmaar attacker Troy Parrott is also being linked with Everton, and getting both these deals over the line would undoubtedly make the Guinea-Bissau striker’s possible exit understandable.

It doesn’t look like much business is expected in Merseyside in the coming weeks, which surely rules out any exits for the time being unless something drastic happens.
