Everton reach agreement for 1st winter signing, now set for medical - David Ornstein
Everton have reached an agreement with Chelsea over a loan deal for Tyrique George.
Despite interest from elsewhere in the Premier League, Everton had been considered the favourites to sign George.
The 19-year-old is now on the verge of officially become an Everton player until the end of the campaign – and potentially beyond.
David Ornstein provided an update on the situation on Sunday evening, with Everton having around 24 hours to finalise a deal.

Details shared on Everton and Chelsea agreement for Tyrique George
Ornstein reported via The Athletic that an agreement in principle is in place between the two teams.
George will now travel to undergo a medical at Finch Farm, with the deal including an option to make it permanent in the summer.
Ornstein adds that the deal is pending ratification on Everton’s end, but it looks as though the Toffees will beat the clock to get their first winter deal over the line.
The 19-year-old has made 37 senior appearances for Chelsea since emerging through their academy ranks.
That includes four appearances in the Premier League this season, with the most recent of those coming in October.
Exactly what will George bring to Everton?
Jack Grealish’s season-ending injury at Hill Dickinson Stadium meant signing a replacement out wide became a priority for David Moyes’ men.
George can play on the right-hand side of attack and also lead the line, which gives Moyes some much-needed versatility up top.

As highlighted by the Sofascore graphic above, George converts around 27 per cent of his chances and averages a goal or assist every 126 minutes in all competitions.
That is hardly an impressive figure, but it must be factored in that the youngster has struggled to get a consistent run of games under his belt.
On the face of it, he offers Moyes a different point of reference in the final third.
And with the deal including an option to buy in the summer, the next few months can be used as a test drive so to speak to determine if a permanent deal is on the cards.
