Everton star reacts to Championship loan news away from Everton
Harrison Armstrong has been a reliable operator since his return to Everton from Preston North End.
Armstrong was recalled from Preston to fill in for Idrissa Gana Gueye, while the Senegal international was away at AFCON.
The 19-year-old played a key role as Everton secured a 1-0 victory away to Aston Villa and also thrived in the FA Cup defeat against Sunderland.
That hasn’t stopped Armstrong from being linked with a Preston return, with a move back to Deepdale remaining on the cards all winter.
The Toffees have a decision to make over Armstrong’s future at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, all while business continues to be conducted elsewhere.

Harrison Armstrong reacts as Norwich City deal done
Armstrong has been eyed by Preston throughout the January transfer window after a terrific start to the campaign in the Championship.
The teen was up there with one of the best young talents in the whole division, so it was no surprise when the Toffees brought him back to Merseyside.
With Gueye now back from Morocco, David Moyes will be keen to avoid his game time dropping sharply in the coming weeks.
That could see a move back to the second tier make sense, especially with Armstrong seemingly keeping an eye on developments elsewhere.
The Everton starlet liked a post from Manchester United youngster Harry Amass on Instagram after his loan move to Norwich City was confirmed.
A message about the left-back’s “journey so far” was shared by the Canaries, something that was clearly of interest to the midfielder in L4.
Armstrong could benefit more from Everton exit
The young Englishman may be thriving under Moyes right now, but would certainly do well with regular minutes in the Championship.
Some of the best talent in recent years at Premier League level have come through the second tier and proved how important a spell there can be for development.
Best players to come through the Championship in recent years:
- Jack Grealish
- Eberechi Eze
- Michael Olise
- Ruben Neves
- Alexander Mitrovic
- Jude Bellingham
- Tammy Abraham
- Mason Mount
Armstrong is doing well right now for Everton, but should his minutes start to fall away, his development will start to follow suit.
A return to Preston or elsewhere in the Championship could prove to be hugely beneficial to help him before coming back to Merseyside to potentially be a Premier League regular next season.
